travel tryouts - Schedules

Parents,

The SHYBA Travel Tryout schedule for the 2026-27 season is now posted below.  (scroll down)

 As a reminder:

- SHYBA strongly encourages players trying out for a travel team to attend both tryouts for their age group. To be considered for a team a player must attend at least one tryout, but attending both tryouts helps coaches to make the best selections.

-  It is strongly recommended that players arrive 15 minutes early to each tryout session to allow for uniform sizing and registration verification. No basketballs are needed SHYBA provides them.  Bring water bottles only.

- In order to attend a tryout, a player MUST be registered for SHYBA before stepping onto the court. There are no exceptions to this rule. Please ensure you register your child before registration closes.

- For attending a tryout, a player only needs to come ready to play basketball. No equipment is necessary other than a water bottle if so desired and no outside balls should be brought with the player. 

- As in prior years, parents are NOT allowed to be in the gyms during any of the tryouts. Only the players, coaches, and independent evaluators are to be in the gyms. Thank you in advance for adhering to this rule. 

- Players selected to the travel teams will be posted on the SHYBA website and contacted by their coaches following the tryouts. Players not selected will be included in the pool of players for the SHYBA Rec league for the coming season. As a reminder, there is no refund of registration fees for players not selected for Travel as it is expected those players will play SHYBA Rec for the upcoming season.
